Sound like good signings in the right areas, it has to be said.

Evening all! Used to live in 'gods country' but now live in Newmarket in deepest Suffolk so not a regular at Clarence Park anymore. It does seem from many comments that the team lacks a bit of motivation rather than basic skills. I did see a few early games in August/September and saints made a really good fist of it in all departments. Dare i say we looked really sharp. What has happenned since then? I cant belive the players have become less fit so it is a bit of a mystery as to the recent slump. Cant offer any solutions but only my support from a distance. Dont lose heart boys and girls but these new players need to inspire the exisiting team as well as to scoring a goal or three! COYS!

Good to have you on board, topper!
From my perspective, it seems the squad was knocked by a couple of bad results and never really recovered from it - a crisis of confidence, if you will.
No one has really stepped up and helped drag the team to confidence-boosting results, so we've been losing games when we've been ahead and the football we've been playing has gone downhill as a result.
Here's hoping these new signings go some way towards addressing the issues.

Michael Harriman sounds an excellant signing and we desperately need a centre midfielder to take control here's hoping.

To have already played some mins for the 1st team (he also played against Rochdale in the league cup) that is a fantastic signing
Have we ever had a player before to have played in the premier league the same season as us?

Lets hope we can keep him on loan longer than the initial month.

We certainly need two good full-backs, this has been a problem area. O'Leary is a good competitive ball-winning midfielder, but he has been out injured, and although he has played recently for Wealdstone he has not been starting regularly.

Not that I know very much about him but O'Leary seems to be the type of player we have been looking for all season - a holding midfield man. While he can break things up and help protect the back four, maybe we don't have to be so worried when Ijaha goes on his travels upfield, because previously it has been frightening the life out of me, with no or very little cover behind.
I just hope we have the sense to play Harriman, Gray, Moran and Ralph as the back four on Saturday.

This looks to be the start of a very good relationship with QPR (Similar to the one we had/have with Peterborough?) Two good looking signings from them, and I hear there may be one or two more in the future.

It could be that Howell has contacts from his playing days somewhere in the QPR setup. As Castle did with Leyton Orient.

Or it could, quite possibly, be through the Paul Furlong connection.

If you listen to the podcast of the non league show you will hear Ian Ridley saying he knows Neil, Guess maybe Ian asked the QPR boss,

I agree, it sounds the most logical answer.

Good article with comments from the chairman on the official website - www.sacfc.co.uk/index.php/news/-latest-club-news/1744.html'Ridley believes it could mark the turning point after a patchy start to the season and wants fans to back the quartet, thus playing their own part in helping to turn fortunes around'.

So are the remaining loan players, Harriman and Shariff, due to return to their club soon? Maybe Barwell is even the last match that they will play with us during this loan spell? Anyone know?

Both Players are due to return to QPR after tomorrows game, very unlikely they will extend there loans with us!

Both Players are due to return to QPR after tomorrows game, very unlikely they will extend there loans with us! That's a shame. I thought as much though. I guess there might be a small chance of seeing Shariff again. I don't think he is registered with their first team squad like Harriman is. Plus, his injury has prevented him from playing, so maybe he might see the benefit of staying on for another month. I don't know. We can hope!

Means we are going to need at least a couple more signings then with these 2 and O'leary gone

For those not at the match, Simon Martin has returned to the club and came on as a sub today.
Barnard (sorry, I forget his first name right now) was another new signing and came on as a sub to play right-back.
I heard also that Michael Harriman has extended his loan period with the Saints.

Narada Barnard. Simon Martin. This is hopeless stuff. We need some players who can play at this level, we currently have about 3 and one of those is Harriman.

Simon Martin isn't the answer unless the question is which player has signed for St Albans city the most times !
It's the other end we need players Centre back/s and Central midfield are what we need.
