That will be a shame if true, he's been pretty good the last couple of games

Reece Yorke has joined Northwood. If Walker has left then Howell is clearly getting rid of the younger talented players and keeping the dross.
Come on St.Albans City FC get this mess sorted out. We need about 5/6 new players and we need them now. We need an entire back four who have some idea of how to play, and at least one central midfielder who can pass and tackle, and we need a central striker who isn't completely past it.

Jerome Walker was the only, and I mean only, player who came out of Saturday with any credit. This is very worrying.

This just says it really one of our best players and we let him ago? What's going on? Has DH lost the plot?

HA HA! The loss of Jerome is massive. Why he has gone (To MET POLICE!!!!!) will come out in time-jumped or pushed is irrelevant One of the few talented players we have.Maybe mR Howell has another couple of 45 year olds in the wings waiting for us! WHY IS MR HOWELL STILL HERE? we need to keep the good players at any price and get rid of the dross. This is so like a pantomime. Come on Ian sort it out whilst you still retain some credibility.(ps. Santa doesnt exist)

It is extremely worrying if the better players want to jump ship. It won't be money that is tempting them but the inconsistent and clumsy "squad rotation". I suspect that is why O'Leary only stayed for a few days, took one look at the set -up and went home.

I fear that we have another Gibson type in charge in the boardroom. I really hope I am wrong.

I don't
I think the chairman just really wants Howell to work out and who can blame him, I really want Howell to work out as well but I think we can all see that's looking increasingly unlikely

Dont think many of us would disagree with youEFMTFTV- we all want managers to work out- but Mr Howells time to get things sorted passed a while ago-its too late to abandon the ship once it has sunk. And whilst Mr Ridley is no Mr Gibson if we keep Mr Howell one has to question Mr Ridleys judgement- and a run of victories would not change my mind. And if other threads are to be believed then our budget is not the issue-however we surely need bigger gates unless the budget was based on crowds of 250-300 which I believe is not the case. So. Whats to do? If there is no more money and we cannot keep the decent players we have what is the solution and what is the internal / dressing room problem? Do we have coaches etc in house who can be given a chance? Mr Howell has not endeared himself to the fans by refusing to accept any responsibility and coming out with blatantly obvious statements-'we neeed to improve ' etc. Oh really?

Found out from a reliable source that Jerome Walker has left & joined ryman league outfit Met Police Who could blame him Why are we finding all this out on a message board? We have an official website, why is this information not being passed through to one of the administrators to put on. Nobody is expecting War and Peace but I don't think it is unreasonable for fans to be informed about players coming in and going out, without having to trawl other clubs' websites. The Reece Yorke piece, for instance, went on the Northwood site last Friday and I don't think I have seen anything about Matt Cutchey playing for Billericay at Lowestoft on Saturday. Poor communication and not good enough. As far as the news on Jerome Walker is concerned, this is not good either, if indeed it is true. Jerome has huge potential, if coached correctly and is a really genuine guy, who is also popular with the supporters. Apparently, he won the October Player of the Month by a mile and I also heard that, unsurprisingly, he picked up every single vote for last Saturday's game. He is one of probably only 6 or so players good enough to play at this level and one we can ill afford to lose but even he was subject to the management's 3 matches in 2 matches out (or whatever it is) rotation nonsense, which is never going to work at this level. Of the 27 games to date, he has started in only 17 and that is ludicrous. Who could blame him, indeed, sainthook. A big loss, if this story is true.

Just to be absolutely clear, webbo, that post was not aimed at you in any shape or form. If you aren't given the information, you can hardly be expected to put it on. For the record, I think you do a splendid job.

you can't blame decent players for leaving dave howell dosen't have a clue, what is the point of continuing with him as manager, perhaps ian ridley is afraid to sack him for what reasons i don't know.

That last paragraph is hugely significant. Why was Howell brought in? Because there was a belief that he could get us playing some good football. When a player leaves because the football is no good, that says a lot. So if we're not getting the results and we're not playing good football, what good is Mr. Howell doing? I've been a big supporter of his, but there needs to be a turnaround before 2012 or else I'll be joining those calling for his head.

It makes you think if one player is leaving already how many more will be on there way out. Lets hope Howell can stop a mass exodus from happening. Im guessing Simon Martin may have come in as a replacement
"He signs from a good club but our style of football was a big factor in his decision so we welcome him to Imber Court". Guessing they dont play hoofball

As i said elsewhere. I can't see the owners putting up with the lack of performances on the pitch for much longer. I guess Ian Ridley has control of on the pitch matters but surely it comes to a point where the owners have to get involved. At the end of the day it's results which count and if we aren't winning games it has a knock on effect all round. As fans we have suffered enough over the last few years and it's about time we had something to cheer about. I wish Jerome luck, he was one of the better players we've had so far this season.

I really can't work out how we have let Jerome leave, he wasn't the finished article, but he was quick, lively and always gave a hundred percent, and was a constant threat.Howarth,Furlong and Bakare are all too similar,Jerome gave us a different option. As others have said, why are we hearing all the news from 'other' sources ? I am a Ridley fan,but he needs to sort out his public relations otherwise he might alienate the the dwindling support.

He wouldn't have been on a contract, lonecrank, I don't think Howell is a man for contracts (don't get started on that one), according to what he said at the last Fans' Forum. I would imagine that Met Police would have had to make a 7 day approach to St. Albans. I believe that is the normal procedure with non-contract players. Therefore, if that is the case the club, as well as Howell, must have known about this a week ago. Unless, of course, it was mutually agreed between the two clubs for him go to Met Police, without the 7 day approach and I can't believe, for one moment, that Howell would have wanted him to go.

Something must be very wrong if one of our few decent players would rather play for Met Police!
Much as I applaud the Chairman for his loyalty to the manager, I'm afraid he has to take action now and make a change.

Apparently we have signed Micah Hyde (age 37) from Aveley and are pursuing Drew Roberts (remember him, someone who can't play effectively at Conference South level)
Not very comforted. We need central defenders and a left full-back who can move.

Roberts has scored 21 goals so far this season. Not sure it matters at the moment whether he can hack it in Conference South! Surprised we've made it public if other clubs are after him?
Micah Hyde was a great player in his days at Watford. Hope he still has the legs to go with the quality?

SO Mr Howells 'admits' there is something wrong with the side! We ahdnt noticed David so thanks for that. Also ,when teams you are playing score more goals than you you generally lose( you can have that one for free). Looking at the latest info and again can I thank webbo for his sterling efforts-if you dont get the info how can you post it/update the site- so there is a clear lack of communication from management on and off the field -oops ive just done a Howel and stated the blee***g obvious- so looking at the info we have the possibility of about 4/5 new faces in the team on Saturday. We could win 5 0 or lose 5 0. its exciting supporting the Saints. What will Mr Howell say or do next! Maybe we could get Miguel de Souza to come back- he cant be 50 yet. and theremust be some quality players over 40 who havnt had a game for a while that we could get in seeing as we are losing players to Met Police ,Bar 62 and New Greens Rangers( is there a team?) .Anyway Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to Hitchin we go! I work all day then watch Saints play Hi Ho . . . . . .

Surprised we've made it public if other clubs are after him I'm sure Bedford Town are ecstatic about putting this in the public domain, when we haven't even signed the player yet. Micah Hyde details - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micah_HydeAt the rate we are going, we'll probably be able to put out a side in the next Masters football tournament.

Maybe we should be re-named Watford Masters F.C. Drew Roberts is on good form but why would he choose us over Bedford. It's the defence that is the problem!!
