I'd really like to hear who all of you consider to be Saints legends. Obviously, I've heard all of the stories about the likes of Steve Clark, Wilfred Minter, Phil Wood etc. but I'd certainly like to hear more! It'd be great to hear your stories, especially for some of us younger fans. So, who would be on your list of Saints legends?

Paul Bastock..... I don't think I need to give a reason. How about Clarke? Those record scoring seasons and leading us to the conference aswell as being captain. Surely he deserves some recognition.

How about managers too? Colin Lippiatt, for taking us the highest we've ever been.

Obviously who you consider a legend depends on which era you supported the Saints. In the time that I've followed City the following 'Hall of Fame' comes to mind: Herbie Smith John Butterfield Bobby Childs Phil Wood Dave Lawrence Paul Mayles John Mitchell Steve Clark Lee Clarke Paul Bastock As these are the ones I remember off the top of my head - I guess they are the ones that made the most impact. I can remember many more but I'm not sure they warrent the tag 'Legend'. Managers: Sid Prosser John Mitchell G. Hill ( though during his era I didn't actually go down the park) Colin Lippiatt Steve Castle (surprisingly after his first stint!)

For Me Steve Clark, Lee Clarke and Paul Bastock are all legends in my eyes! Bazza to me is possibly the most enteratining footballer iv ever seen, always passionate and loves his banter but also a true gent. A few seasons back I asked if he would be able to give me a lift to Peterborough after the game as I knew its not too far from him and he gladly did, also refusing the petrol money from me as well. Legend!

I was looking through a few old match programmes the other day and I found the following suggested first XI of Saints legends: 1. Tony Roberts 2. Erskine Smart 5. Kevin Mudd 6. Ashley Vickers 3. Peter Risley 7. Lenny Piper 4. Allan Cockram 8. Martin Duffield 11. Jimmy King 9. Steve Clark 10. Billy Minter From what I know, have heard and have read about these players, that would be quite a formidable line-up!

Overflowing with nostalgia reading many of these names and remembering others that I have enjoyed watching, including Geoff Anthony (early 70's); Nick O'Donoghue (mid-70's); Derek Brown (late 70's); George Cooper (early 80's) and Robbie Smale (late-80's) among them.
My hero - and surely one of The Saints' all-time leading penalty takers/scorers - was Ian 'Spooner' Whitehead. I voted for him seven years in a row as BBC Sports Personality of the Year, but he never won it.
And there are others whose Saints careers are best forgotten: Joe Kasza and Iain Dowie among them, although there must be others....
