Humour me on this please, Saints fans. Do you have a favourite sporting mascot (of the sort that goes around waving at fans, shaking their hands, getting its photo taken, generally encouraging crowd participation and taking part in the Mascot Grand National)? And if St Albans City were to have one, what would it be and what would you call it? Detractors: don't bother to reply; it's just a thought.

The Southampton mascot is called 'Super Saint' apparently (just looked it up!) That name sounds pretty good to me.
I think it would have to be a pretty cool looking cat in my opinion. Or no, wait a minute, what about a leopard like the South Africa mascot but with yellow skin and blue hair! ;D

I can't recall seeing too many club mascots in recent years but do remember the Womble at Wimbledon last season and Newport had Spytty the Dog.

Older fans may remember the tv series Daktari which featured a cross-eyed lion called Clarence. Maybe we should have Clarence the Lion

Thanks for the feedback; Clarence is a great name and might do more to improve the brand than the cardboard cutout Roy of The Rovers that we once had. The drawing board awaits!
Of course, it might also mean having to rename the ground as The Jungle and repainting it to resemble one. And fans would have to wear pith helmets or safari hats and wave fly swatters instead of rattles.

I had you down as wearing the Clarence the Lion outfit Saint! ;D I say we bring back rattles anyway and let's bring back all the old fashioned football attire! At the very least, a football scarf should be compulsory for all at CP!

I didn't know you were a Hitchin Town fan Hatboy. ;D Or is it Norwich City instead? Maybe we should start a campaign like that? I don't think it would make a blind bit of difference to Gibson's mindset Saint.
