Sad times. This all points to some real turmoil behind the scenes at Clarence Park. Eamsie was able to stick it out under Gibson for years, so things must be really bad!

Whatever the reasons for leaving, Steve was a part of SACFC for many years in many guises under a variety of owners/managers. Id like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well. I trust he has something in place to go to and would like to remind him that he still owes me a drink from his winnings when we won down at Lewes some years ago. Any others going?

Thank you Steve for your friendship and past assistance to me and my late Father. It was much appreciated then and never forgotten and I wish you all the good luck in the future. Thanks Stan Johnson

Is it not more likely that after 25 years, as the article says he's just not got the motivation to man the turnstiles for a reserve game because there's not enough volunteers? Or again that after 25 years he just wants to spend more time with his wife and do something else with his time ? Anyway, cheers for the loyal service. You're a good man and a character. My worries now are the lack of people with football experience behind the scenes. Not just with experience but just the lack of people behind the scenes!

Yes there is definitely a real need for more volunteers - it's what keeps any non league club running...

Hear hear to all comments above. I also knew Steve and his Dad Johnny Eames from my time at Royal Mail at the old Ryders Building. Beat wishes Steve in what you do next.
