For a business to run successfully, initially probably the most important thing to take into consideration is the first point of contact at the company that the customer talks to, whether in person or more often the case, by telephone. It can be with the receptionist, the secretary or even the owner him/herself. The importance of this first point of contact is immense and cannot be over stressed. Now, coming to the crux of the matter, one BSBS club in our league had it's phone cut off some 3 or 4 months ago due to non payment of a bill, from what I can make out. On the contacts page of that club's website, apart from an email address, the only direct contact a customer could make with that club is in person, as the only phone number shown is deemed to be 'not available'. Anyone want to hazard a guess which club we are talking about here? What a way to run a business.

I totally agree Boomer. I find it absolutely bizarre that the telephone line has been cut-off for such a length of time. It hasn't been working for most of this year.
It is crazy from a business point of view when you think about it. I also feel sorry for the club secretary who, I assume, must make most of his calls on his own private telephone.
I still cannot believe that this hasn't been sorted out.

He should not be using his personal phone on club business, unless he is reimbursed for those calls by the club and I can just see that happening. The main problem is that the greater percentage of people wanting to contact the club and all new customers, will not know his mobile number. I still cannot believe that this hasn't been sorted out. Oh, I can.

It is crazy from a business point of view when you think about it. When you consider the potential revenue that could be obtained via new business, I would have to describe it as incompetent rather than crazy.

No one can argue with those points, Boomer. There's one thing Gibson not helping us fans, but not helping himself? The mind boggles, it truly does.
