Saints City Trust support Sustainable St Albans Week
On Saturday 21 April, supporters of St Albans City Football Club will undertake a walk covering the heritage of the club by visiting various sites in the city. The walk has been organised by the Supporters Trust. Chairman Ian Rogers said, “ The walk will cover a brief history of the club covering various sites of interest. It will also mean that a number of supporters will walk to our home match with Hampton & Richmond Borough, rather than driving, thus achieving one of the objectives of Sustainable St Albans Week".
The walk will begin at 11:00am at the junction of Belmont Hill and Holywell Hill and will take in the former Crystal Palace public house on London Road (the first headquarters of the St Albans City Football Club), the site of the former Queens Hotel in Chequer Street, Gombards Fields and Bernards Heath before finshing at Clarence Park, the club's current home. Those participants completing the heritage walk this Saturday will get reduced entry to the game (£12.00 adults/£1.00 under 16's) and will be issued with a voucher by Ian Rogers. This voucher is to be submitted at the York Road/Clarence Road turnstile before the game on Saturday.
