Trust news update - 17th August.
Volunteers Rota: we have started to operate a volunteers rota on The Trust website for tasks that need to be carried out on match days and encourage all supporters to become involved in these activities even if it is only for a couple of matches per season.
Player Sponsorship: Ian Rogers has undertaken to run the player sponsorship scheme for the club this season; the funds raised will go towards purchasing new tracksuits and training kit for the players. Please contact him to sponsor your favourite player.
New First Team Kit: a new first team kit was on show for the first time tonight and which has been funded independently by supporters Dave Church, Richard Stanwell and two others who wish to remain anonymous. Many thanks to them all for their generosity.
Football Club update: at a recent meeting with John Gibson the following points were covered
The match day revenue agreement will remain the same as last season, i.e. Golden Goal – 100% to club; club shop sales – 50% of profits to club; raffle – 35% of profits to club.
Coach travel to away matches where required will be funded out of the club's share of the above revenue.
The Trust have been offered a 5% share holding in the club for an annual £5,000 payment with a possible higher donation in the event of the club's promotion. The Trust's Board is undertaking a review of this offer.
The Trust will continue to attend club board meetings and the club have asked for more information about the marketing ideas which it is developing.
Adrian Jolliffe: Adrian - who has been a supporter for many years - suffered injuries in an accident whilst on his bike two weeks ago, At the time of writing, he is in a coma and his condition is described as critical, but stable. We are sure that all supporters will wish him a speedy recovery.
Photo competition: the closing date for our photo competition is drawing near; get a snap of yourself in your Saints colours and send it to marketing@saintscitytrust.co.ukThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by Friday 3rd September. A 2010/11 season ticket, £50 voucher to spend at the club shop and matchday tickets are the prizes on offer for the best entries, whether in an exotic, overseas location, a well-known local or UK venue, an unusual setting or even a celebrity-sharing moment. Existing entries can be found in the competitions section of The Trust website
Ron Newell: lifelong City supporter Ron Newell died a couple of weeks ago and a 1 minute silence was held prior to tonight’s match in his memory. Ron worked for the Royal Mail and played cricket for Lakeside Cricket Club.
