St Albans City fans are getting on the buses to attract new support to the club.
Supporters group Saints City Trust has announced that Uno will display the club’s match posters on its bus services around the district, starting with the FA Cup tie against Beckenham Town at Clarence Park this Saturday.
The Trust is working with the club to improve awareness of its matches among local people; Chair, Laura Graham said, "the increase in the crowd following the publicity for the game on Non League Day recently, showed that people are interested in supporting their local club and we are grateful to Uno for their help in getting the message out to new fans".
Laura Graham: "Put up a poster to put people in the picture"
Uno general manager Michael Finn said, "With over a million passenger journeys on our services across the district each year, bus travel plays an important role in bringing the local community together and we are pleased to support The Saints in bringing more people to their games".
Mrs Graham wants other, local businesses to join the campaign to inject new life into the club, "shops and offices can play a part and put up a poster to put people in the picture", she said.
The posters are produced by St Albans-based marketing agency The Collective Design and can be downloaded from the football club’s website.www.saintscitytrust.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=115%3Asaints-take-route-one-to-attract-new-support&catid=39%3Aarchive&Itemid=18

Could be good to get in with the buses, maybe some inititative where supporters can get reduced bus travel to home games somehow.
Stevenage Boro have been swiping support from places like Welwyn and Hatfield for years now due to it;s proximity on the railway, why not try and get people over from these places to St Albans on the bus, they have no other decent local team to support
