Harpenden Construction Limited - Player of the Month: Congratulations to Peter Smith, who will be presented with his award by Saints supporter Ron Toms prior to kick-off this afternoon.
Quiz Night - Friday, 15th October: the first of this season's ever-popular quiz nights takes place in the clubhouse at Clarence Park this Friday, starting at 7.45pm. Teams of 5-6 people can enter at a cost of £3 per person which includes a half time buffet. Please contact Ian Rogers if you would like to enter a team.
Trust Board Elections: nominations for election closed last week and the adult members among the 90 people who renewed or became Trust members by that time will next receive their election ballot paper and copies of the candidate's manifestos. It is a postal ballot, the closing date for which is 30th October. For more details of the election process, please see The Trust website.
Player Sponsorship: Ian Rogers is running the player sponsorship scheme for the club this season and the funds raised will go towards purchasing new track suits and training kit for the players. If you would like to sponsor your favourite player or if you know a company who would be prepared to do so please contact Ian Rogers or visit him in the PA booth on matchdays. We are grateful to the supporters who have provided sponsorship to-date amounting to £1,050.
New replica kits: the 2010/2011 replica kits are now in stock at the club shop priced at £35 adults and £22 juniors, and the new design supporter’s scarf is also in stock at £8.
Posters: we are grateful to Uno who have agreed to display posters advertising City fixtures in their buses across the district; if you can display a poster at work or if you know a local business or retailer which is prepared to do so, please ask for a copy at the club shop or download one from the club website.
Photo Competition: congratulations to James Palmer who has won the first prize of a season ticket in our photo competition for the picture of him in his Saints shirt in front of the pyramids at Giza in Egypt. His picture and those of the runners-up Malcolm McMillan, Ian Oakley and Sarah Hilliard can be seen on The Trust website.
Clarence says, 'play some Bachman-Turner Overdrive please, Ian'
Have a try-out in the PA booth at Clarence Park; you never know where it may lead....
And Finally: Ian Rogers says, "I had to smile when one of the players asked if I could change the music as they carried out their warm up last Saturday. I actually had 2 compliments for the playlist from supporters but I’m always happy to play what people want, within reason. So, if you would like some particular tracks played, please emailThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or speak to me.
My predecessor used a PC to play the music whereas I burn a CD to use each week so if you can let me know the Wednesday before a Saturday game, your requests can be met.
And following on this theme if you would like to take on the PA role, please come and speak to me; it’s not as onerous as it may seem and as the advert says, full training will be given".
