The thing is, as much as a football pitch may have great drainage, it's where the water goes from the surface, it needs to have a good run through, ie a low water table beneath the surface. If not, it's going to accumulate

It seems rather bizarre to have a 12-45 inspection, when a 9-30 one would have been more sensible, as some people do travel a good distance to come to home games. If its not fit to play on 9-30, it won't be at 12-45.

I'm old school but surely with all this tech (apps AI whatever other bollox they use these days) by 9.30 in the morning they must be able to predict the playing surface at 3pm? Either that or someone at Stockley Park could spend 3 hours deciding??

How would this have suited Hampton, l know they are geographically not a million miles away from St Albans ? You see, back in the day, l can remember when a home Club had to pay the travelling expenses of an away Club if the time of the postponement hadn't prevented of them travelling. Of course l don't know what the rules are nowadays

Maybe this is rose tinted glasses but to me at least the overall quality of the pitch has declined somewhat in the last few years, the areas round the goalmouths look particularly dodgy. There seems a lot of football now played on the pitch- the women's team, we had a couple of Tottenham/Luton U21 games on it, and our own U21 are meant to play on it. If you want to make use of the stadium for various teams surely you need to go to 3G, or at least consider how to improve the maintenance regime. To me the club seem to be trying to maximise usage of the stadium without really thinking about how this effects pitch maintenance.

The owners also turned down the assistance of a Wembley groundsman. The pitch is getting patchy unfortunately. Wet weather hasn't helped.

Spurs also provided 2 groundsman for a full weeks work

This has been rearranged for 16/04/24 according to their website.
Lets hope that we make the playoffs but also in 2nd or 3rd place otherwise it will make for a very congested run to the final
