in my opinion defensively we are a solid side. Their goal today looked miles offside from where I was stood. Other than that Welling really had 1 other big chance. The issue for me is in attack where we just don’t create enough and aren’t clinical enough, Shaun is the shadow of the player from last season. The only criticism I have of the tactics today is bringing on Romeo who I believe is nowhere near NLS level. The big positive was Lench who constantly sliced Welling open and hopefully he starts tuesday… We have the 7th worst defence in the league. Hopefully David Noble has packed his bags and left by Tuesday. And with Partington in the side we concede 1 a game which would be one of the best in the league. The only worrying thing is that we’re having to rely on a 34Yo

For me it was a poor performance across the team. Short corners that didn't work, free kicks that went nowhere, misspasses, giving the ball away. Defensive mishapes that could have left us 3 down if welling were on target especially the keeper coming out and missing the tackle. It's a shambles. I'm now resigned to the fact we are going down. It's deflating and demoralising but we deserve to be near bottom. The team and the manager are no good.

Is Noble really hanging on after that display of incompetent lacklustre and dispiriting "football". A couple of good players with skill does not make a team!

Those interviews are pathetic on all fronts. I know this is a a club YouTube channel but “Joe” MUST ask the difficult questions to the manager. Tav always did. Is there a blanket ban on external media now? Could do with Neil Metcalfe weighing in although I know he focus’ on Stevenage these days for the local rags

It is the control and rose tinted spectacles approach method which is also used by politicians. Sadly a few are stupid enough to be taken in by it all.

Asking direct or uncomfortable questions is seen as negative, it seems. Only feel good questions in non-league football these days. Why do you need a critical local journalist making everything worse when you can just go for positive vibes on social media instead? Saints are far from the only club to take this sort of approach in recent years, marginalising people who are willing and able to ask the questions that the supporters hope to be put on their behalf.
'How pleased were you to keep a clean sheet for the last 75 minutes of the match?'
'Today's result brings our one-match winning streak to an end, how important will it be to bounce back with a good performance on Tuesday?'
Thing is, this sort of stuff leads to completely banal, meaningless platitudes eventually, which is why the manager sounds like a stuck record, saying the same things every game. His criticism of the players or the performance is always the same, but there's no pressure on to explain why it's no better now than it was two months ago.
I get that dwelling on defeats and wallowing in negativity isn't the answer either but football's 'we go again' culture has a lot to answer for.

Noble should have been sacked after the FA Cup embarrassment.
If we bring someone new in, there is no reason why we can't turn things around.
As it stands, if we wait until the new year, it will be too late.

I'm sorry I have been supporting this club for over 50 years. We have had GREAT players at this club, CLARK, DUFFIELD, COCKRAM, KING, ROBBIE SMALE, and the best of all NIGEL JOHNSON but the standard of football currently being played is an absolute joke. Nobby, judging by his after match interviews couldn't motivate a S**G in a brothel. Great servant but time to go!! I'm cheap and could give a few kick up the backsides!!

We actually played better against Welling then we did against Hampton, the difference was that Hampton, despite their decent approach play, were totally ineffective up front.

We are so unlucky!
Actually we were lucky to get a win v Hampton and even more lucky not to lose by more v Welling.
Our approach needs to change urgently, a change of formation, style or personnel. Something that will give us a chance of picking up points in the next 2 games. We are still setting up like a side who is in the top half going for promotion, not like a team fighting for their lives at the bottom. We are playing the same game over and over, unsurprisingly getting the same results, we need to learn from previous matches and adapt.
WE GO AGAIN!

The owners need to change the manager now! Otherwise we are relegated. Recruitment in the summer has been poor, to many players not good enough.
