interesting stuff....

Bromsgrove fans not waiting for their club to die (they have a promise of a ground though!) -
Bromsgrove Sporting insist they will be kicking off as a new club next season – as rivals rather than a replacement to current Zamaretto League Division One Midlands outfit Bromsgrove Rovers.
The fans group, who had tried to buy Rovers when the club were placed into administration, will now use the funds they raised to start a new club.
They have already spoken to Bromsgrove Council about playing at the Victoria Ground – Rovers’ lease on the ground ends this summer – and to the Football Association, and they plan to apply to join the Midland Combination.
Should they get council approval to use the Victoria Ground – the council meets on April 4th – then they could start in the Midland Combination Premier.
But Rob McLaren, the spokesman for Sporting and a long-time Rovers fan, said they hoped Rovers will also continue – possibly as ground-sharers.
“We want Bromsgrove Rovers to survive – it’s not an us or them situation,” said McLaren. “I’ve watched Rovers for forty-three years and I don’t want to see them vanish.
“But after we had two bids to buy Rovers rejected we decided we would form another club.
“We formed the idea of a not-for-profit company which means that none of the directors can take money out, and we want to include fans’ representatives on the board.
“We’re looking to get involved with youth teams to link up with us and we would become an umbrella organisation for several clubs rather than being a controlling influence.”
Sporting have already appointed John Day as director of football and ordered their kit, while they are setting up a lottery to help raise money.
“I’m 100 per cent certain Bromsgrove Sporting will be playing next season,” said McLaren. “But I hope Rovers continue to play. We can all remember Rovers getting gatea of 1000-plus when they were in the Conference, so there are enough fans for two clubs.”
