Over the last few days I have noticed that if anybody dare to have an opinion on this forum they have been shot down in flames by an over zealous moderator.
Now I can appreciate that it is not acceptable to abuse a fellow users of this forum but in life we do not all sing from the same hymn sheet and we will all have differing views concerning players, management, the trust and the chairman.
With this in mind could the moderators please let everyone air their our opinions without fear of being ticked off if big brother does not agree with them.

We try to make this forum as friendly as possible.
I don't know who this 'over-zealous Mod' is, and if it is me, I apologise, but we don't aim to go out and stop posting people's views.
I personally welcome people's differing views, and I often disgree with fellow moderators over issues.
I just want to assure everyone that different views are welcome, disgareemaents are part of football, and without them, it wouldn't be very entertaining!

Hi Bovysaint.
The aim is always for moderation on this site to be done with as light a touch as possible. Obviously, for this to continue, we need everyone's support by adhering to the guidelines and rules. We aim to make this forum as friendly, welcoming and pleasant as possible and that's the whole point in having the guidelines.
As for our moderation, we always say that if you disagree with something, feel free to get in touch via a PM. We'll be happy to discuss any issue or thoughts that you may have.
Speaking frankly, I am slightly bemused by the idea that any of the moderators want people to agree with their opinions. The actual truth is that we find ourselves disagreeing with each other over quite a few things! None of us have a hidden agenda and the truth is that we are all just football fans who are doing this purely for a bit of fun and enjoyment.
I think it's also important to note that 99% of the time, we aren't speaking as moderators but as users of the forum. If I say I disagree with someone, that's not in any sense a 'ticking off' but just me giving my opinion.
All views and opinions are welcomed here. It'd be a pretty boring forum if everyone agreed on everything. Ultimately, if you follow the forum guidelines, you won't hear from us very often at all, and that's the way I'd like it to be. I hope that's clear and helpful in some small way.
Cheers, D.

I agree with bovysaint. The moderators may not wish to be heavy handed, but is there even a need for three moderators? Apart from loujam, when was the last time a thread had to be deleted or a user banned? It's not like swearing, abuse and spamming are particularly prevalent on the board, why not just let things go every now and again? Not to mention topics straying off the subject occasioanlly, that's what happens!
Thanks, Limpar Assist

Not that I am counting, Limpar Assist, but I believe that the last user banned from here was Webbo earlier this week, apparently, according to him/her, for multi-posting. He/she claims that he/she deleted 'Webbo' and replaced that with blue jean, but Daedalus and his crew of moderators have chosen not to comment upon that. That - the public silence - is entirely up to them of course, and nothing should be read into that. The fact that Webbo could be described as generally critical of many of the views on this board in general and The Trust in particular is also irrelevant to the banning, I'm sure.
Me? I received a friendly massage of my knuckles from saint and Daedalus to my second ever posting, and I have no complaints about that.
The fact that one regular likes to use a personal name when responding to one particular contributor is a minor irritant but I can't be backsided to do anything about it. There are 3 moderators and if they asked for my assistance, I would change the personal name to that of the user name and tell the offender to straighten out, stop being provocative or push off, regardless of his unquestioning support otherwise.
One thing I do feel is that most of those on here with views consider those views to be indisputable, and show no interest in a counter view expressed by anyone else. Actually, they do show an interest - openly hoping that anyone with a counter view waits a year before airing it. I believe that open debate is healthy as a compromise of dirrerent views may turn out to be the best way. Unfortunately, my view is not shared by the Trust and its acolytes and apologistas on here.
If there were to be more debate rather than less, perhaps the site would attract more contributors which, too, would be healthy.
Apart from that, it's great.
Saintsfans, eh?

Is this the same "Webbo" that threatened a user on this forum a few months back?

The temporary posting ban of a user has already been dealt with privately and I don't think it is beneficial to anyone to have a public discussion regarding this. Constructive feedback is always welcome though and therefore we are happy for this thread to continue. However, I would appreciate it if we could avoid speculation about other users. Thanks.

Well Daedalus, the only speculation on here comes from Aries when he speculates whether this is the same Webbo who threatened another user. That's speculation about the identity, not speculation about the threat itself. Shall I start a new thread about that as it doesn't sit comfortably under the heading of "Friendly Forum", I guess, and I, for one, am keen to know who was threatened, and with what by this Webbo person.

If webbo has gone then surely the webbo for this site could now bag that name

For so many reasons people are told to PM the moderators with concers or comments or questions or whatever, yet when they do, they are sometimes completely ignored. I'm not complaining or arguing or anything, but there seems to be no point sending this comment via PM to anyone!

I have sent you a private message Limpar. Perhaps your messages aren't getting through for some reason. You certainly aren't being ignored.
