Some music on now for a quick break and then IR will be talking more.
Well worth tuning in now as it sounds as if IR will have quite a bit more airtime to talk about his plans for SACFC etc.

Great interview with Ian Ridley. He was really open, honest, realistic and articulated his thoughts and ideas really well.
On the playing side, he briefly mentioned the likes of Peter Smith, Adam Everitt, Inih Effiong, as players he wants to keep at the club. He briefly talked about Steve Castle, saying that a decision will be made over the next week or so regarding the manager.
Overall, he talked a lot of sense and it sounds as if he has some good plans to raise the profile of the club. He talked about SACFC becoming the centre of the community again. Everything he said sounded sensible and realistic to me. The Club sounds as if it is in good hands at last.

A very good interview, as you would probably expect. Lasted around 20-25 minutes. At the start, he spoke about his time in charge at Weymouth at the beginning of the millenium, describing it as a challenging but interesting experience. He went on to say how public relations are so important to a football club and that you need to know your market and what the people want. Lawrence Levy and John McGowan would be looking after financial affairs but he would dealing with the football side of things. He wanted to get back to seeing the type of football advocated by Colin Lippiatt, which was enjoyable to watch. He said that new owners were intent on achieving a bedrock of stability and engaging the community, including varying degrees of sponsorship and commercial activity. His main aim was to 'get things right' on the field, assembling a competitive team and bringing the fun factor back. Now that the debts had been settled by the owners, he said that we can now concentrate on the playing side. A very positive interview.
