Thought we should have a new thread for ideas to share with MtM for the sweepers we'll be hearing between songs this season, and also for any chants people can think up for new players etc.
Hopefully, there will be a more positive atmosphere at CP this season and I'm fully behind MtM's new ideas for a more upbeat match day presentation. Maybe it'll also encourage some chanting on the terraces as well.
Anyway, to recap on what a sweeper is all about, here is a quotation from MtM:
Over the next week, I intend to produce what are called 'sweepers'. These are much like jingles but are spoken and not set to music. They generally have a sound effect either in the background or at the end. Sweepers are normally played to link records together or to end an announcement and take the broadcast back to music......
....a sweeper will generally consist of a phrase of say up to 12 syllables.
Yellowfox came up with a brilliant one:
Clarence Park - home of family football
as a sweeper.
I thought that this was excellent and a good example of a sweeper.
In the other thread, MtM was asking for more ideas and suggestions. He was also talking about developing some centred around players who become 'adopted' by supporters as favourites. So I thought I would start a new thread for ideas along these lines.
For a start, I think we've got to have one for the manager. Something like, 'Owsy's yellow and blue army'! I don't know, I'm not that good at thinking them up! No images allowed -http://i811.photobucket.com/albums/zz40/Crouchaldinho_SACFC/redface.gif Anyone else care to have a go?
