Thanks to the Saints City Trust, club general manager Steve Eames now has a new mower as he seeks to keep the Clarence Park pitch in the immaculate condition it has been in as a result of his hard work over the summer.
With the club’s old mower on its last legs, the Trust stepped in to pay out the £3,600 cost of the refurbished Ransome’s Mastiff 91 as part of almost £5,000 worth of contributions to the club in the last two months.
They kicked off in the summer by financing the returfing of the goalmouths and have since paid for the new blue and yellow nets along with first-team training equipment.

“This is an example of the Supporters Trust in action, supporting the club,” said Trust chairman Ian Rogers, who is also the Trust representative on the club’s management board.
“The new owners of the club needed all the help they could get and we were happy to back them financially. Now we have a voice at the club and are listened to.”
Eamsie, meanwhile, is delighted with the new mower that makes the groundsman’s part of his job that little bit easier.
“I’m delighted,” he said, purring over his new toy. “The Ransome is the battleship of sports ground equipment.”
Added Saints chairman Ian Ridley: “We are grateful for the Trust’s continued help. It is gratifying that all parts of the club are pulling together.”
Amen!
