News Update: 3rd April 2010 (click on the blue text to be directed to the Saints City Trust website!)
Harpenden Construction Player of the Month - March 2010: congratulations to winner Adam Everitt, who was presented with his award prior to the kick-off.
John Wangford: we are saddened to hear of the death of supporter John Wangford on 9th February after a long battle against cancer. John, who was a local man, moved to Southampton a few years ago but was still seen regularly at Clarence Park and at many away matches. He will be most remembered in St Albans for his political work as a member of the SWP and as a shop steward at St Albans Hospital. John attended Sheffield Hallam University, and became a history teacher, first in Luton and then in the Southampton area; he was a popular and knowledgeable figure on the terraces and our condolences go to his family and friends.
Sponsored Walk: the annual sponsored walk took place last Saturday covering a near 9 mile route around the City boundary; despite the disappointingly low turnout over £700 was raised, from which donations will be made to local charities.
Player of the Season Voting: will take place this afternoon for the Supporters Player of the season, the goal of the season and the Wagstaffe Simmons award which is for the person you feel has contributed most to the club this season either on or off the field.
Awards Presentation and Karaoke Night: following the home match against Woking on Saturday 17th April, the awards presentation for the Players' Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and Wagstaffe Simmons trophy will take place in the clubhouse at around 6.15pm. This will be followed by a karaoke night, where hot food will be available
Club Shop: the prices for replica strips have been reduced; 2009/2010 shirts are now £15 (adults)and £10 (junior sizes), while all pre-2009 shirts are now £10 (adults) and £7 (juniors).
And finally, many thanks to Dave McLean who ran a very entertaining Race Night in the clubhouse after the match against Dover Athletic; despite a few technical adjustments being required the races got underway and two of our visitors collected a sizeable amount of cash as the owners of the first three winning horses!
