I understand that there are a number of new sponsors already in place for next season, so he cant exactly be doing too badly? I'm not saying Tom hasn't put the work in or has the ability to be a good commercial manager but I'm sure the play off semi and final and subsequent promotion have helped in attracting new sponsors too ! Of course it has, Tom has admitted that himself, but there needs to be someone to actually answer the calls and emails from the various companies interested in a club which has high ambitions. There'd be no point in having the interest from those sponsors if there wasn't anyone there to agree the deal and sign it off.

Now your doing him down answer calls and emails, I'd like to think there was a lot more to being a commercial manager than just that

I thought it was Eamsie's job to answer calls and e-mails?! Maybe not at 4am, but still...
Sorry to hear about Lenny.

Blimey, once you get past a certain age, all commercial directors look about twelve. Or is that policemen?

The best way to answer criticism. Great stuff. I can't comment on the job Tom's doing, but I can only imagine that drumming up sponsorship for a non-league club is one of the hardest jobs in football.

Christ not much of an update really...well done Tom for reading this message board and posting those 4 sentences on the main site. I'm sure Tom's extensive commercial background assisted him greatly in those meetings

What more of an update would you like? He's clearly responded to your enquiries/doubts by listing the new sponsorships deals that are in place. Could you have done any better? Tom and the club are in a busy phase right now getting ready for the new season, so for him to even take time to address your concerns is very fortunate. Not many clubs would have done so. I get the impression you have a chip on your shoulder about Tom, I don't know why, and I don't really want to know why, but if you have any issues, contact him through e-mail, I'm sure he'll be happy to help. *End of slight rant*

If the club are being successful in attracting additional commercial sponsorship does this not conflict with the narrative they put forward regard price increases as a unavoidable necessity? So do the club's twin narratives not contradict each other?

It's a shame the club weren't as quick to respond about price increases etc... Still waiting for Eamsie's response

Ok I know this not about Tom, but lets ask the questions where was the job advertised, How did Tom land the position was anyone else interviewed, Just being the chairman lacky boy does not mean he should take a full time paid job at the club. I understand last season Tom was on the directors list at the park, If so did he put any money into the club, I think because of the way the club had moved up a league you would expect a few new sponsors to come forward. As for twitter do we need a full time person to upload a few tweets.thought we had a club website for the news and this forum. I do hope tom does well in his job and for the club but still feel maybe once again the club does it self no good in the way it goes around doing things.

Good to see the sponsor updates, although someone should tell the co-owner 'The Saints' shouldn't be in apostrophes, in the same way 'Spurs' wouldn't be in apostrophes if someone was proud to sponsor Spurs. Bit late now I guess!
Also, is the security firm sponsorship offset against the cost of stewarding, I wonder? No idea on prices of these things

Unless you saw the CV, held the interview, then can I suggest you know jack s***. Give the bloke a chance, if it turns out all wrong then point at those that appointed him.

I do hope tom does well in his job and for the club.................... Yes, it really sounds like it. You're definitely right about one thing though, the thread isn't about Tom. Just a couple of things - 1) I think because of the way the club had moved up a league you would expect a few new sponsors to come forward. You think so? If you want new sponsors, you have to put a lot of time and effort to seek them out and get them, especially in and around the St. Albans area, which has always been notoriously difficult to attract investment and they are not going to come to you.
2) As for twitter do we need a full time person to upload a few tweets. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't realise that running the SACFC twitter account was Tom's full time job. From what I can glean, Tom has pulled in considerable sponsorship over the past few weeks for the Club and he should be congratulated for it and not castigated. It is all to easy to criticise. As pirate says, give the guy a chance.

Having just looked at his online LinkedIn profile - he has zero experience. You seriously think he was interviewed for the role? - this is a clear case of who you know not what you know.

1/ not sure i was castigating tom, Just asking why the club felt the need to give such a young lad the full time job without interviewing others(maybe the club did) who might have more experience in this type of work. Should"nt all jobs be advertised nowadays SO THE BEST PERSON GETS THE JOB
2/ I did say I hope Tom does well for the club, but in the past as we all know many have taken on this challenge and failed Maybe Tom will be a success and which case everybody will be happy.
far be it for me to criticise Tom (Which was,nt the initial point of my thread) I was just trying to clarify what reasons made him a suitable candidate for this position.
But once again boomer your read it your way and put another pointless and stupid answer up , but then I am use to this.

And what exactly has this to do to with Admission And Season Ticket Prices 2014/15 I must be missing something here or is this thread being hijacked by persons with an underlying agenda?

Well, I'm going to have to step in here I think.
As Boomer has mentioned, it would seem that there is a determination to derail this thread. It is designed to specifically be about Admission prices, not the job that Tom does.
If anyone has an issue with Tom, why don't you email him, as I have said numerous times, I'm sure he is more than happy to respond and speak to you about your concerns.
Of course, if you feel that way inclined, you can create a new thread, but it must be in line with the forum rules.

Press and PR Officer The person who fills this important role will be the main point of contact for the local press and other media and will be an official representative of the Club. Reporting to the Board you will be preparing and distributing releases for the Club website, undertaking interviews, producing programme articles and so forth, with the aim of promoting the Club at all levels and in a positive style. I thought maybe Tom should be doing this job as well as his other in the club.

Bit vague. Surely they should be some indication of what ratio of full time the position is at the very least?

Snowball agent - would that not fall under commercial and sponsorship stuff? Mascot - I know a good candidate but doubt he'd be up for it. Hope the outfit wasn't too expensive! Matchday volunteers (lost ball collectors) - what's happened to Fenners?

I understand that the press officer will probably need to attend every match and training session (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) so it's those sorts of requirements.
