Is down at the moment, although the site itself seems to be working.

who should I speak to about the removal of the stadium plan that I drew up a few years ago? I can't remember being asked permission to use it...

Does this mean the player/match statistics from previous seasons have gone with it? It would be a real shame to lose this.

Very disappointed to see the history site disappear. I used to look at that site more than the official one. Any particular reason for it closing down? If it's for financial reasons, perhaps Stand by Your Saints and the Trust could contribute for it's upkeep?

It still seems to be there - it's more embarassing than anything - like something a Year 10 student drew up. Hopefully I don't have to go down the same route Gaz took?

It was simply copied over from the old site - no-one knew who had done it. It's now been removed as another supporter has kindly agreed to design a new one and give to the club - no strings attached....

Perhaps the person who ran the old site could've provided that kind of information, had he been asked. It's still showing on the site, incidentally.

The Frequently Asked Questions page - which seems to be a duplicate of the Visiting Clarence Park page, plus the image itself is still being hosted

Still not removed, perhaps the old owner could tell you where it is when he tells you who did it

This is all a bit petty.
I've no idea what's gone on behind the scenes with the old and new websites, but the new one works perfectly fine and is being run free of charge.
The one thing it's lacking is the history/stats. This was a great resource, so would be a real shame if this was lost. I'm happy to help if any is needed in transferring this over. Hopefully this won't be lost due to a disagreement.

Hopefully the stats and history will be available again soon, it's a shame that the separate site was taken down, but hopefully the information will find it's way back to the club site in full at some point in future, if it doesn't in the form of another site.

Yeah it doesn't need to be anything fancy. I use it fairly often to find out long forgotten details of matches I've attended over the last twenty years.

It has been very useful for a lot of fans, and like you say, whatever has gone on behind the scenes, it's a shame that fans of the club have lost access to the resource, temporarily at least.

According to AppySaint the new website isn't costing the club anything. I've no idea about the old site.
Do you have any particular issue with the new site saintsdad (other than your stadium plan being used)?

Where did Webbo's post go about the old site costing £199 including super fast loading times and enough space for interviews?
What were others saying about free speech?

Do you have any particular issue with the new site saintsdad (other than your stadium plan being used)? The club may not be paying the costs of the website but a 'supporter' will be paying for it each year. The old site was £199 per year with a fast connection and plenty of space to hold interviews. The new website is hosted by a company that advertises on TV.

Freedom of speech involves treating others with respect, not abusing others, enabling debate without shouting down the opinions of others - it has boundaries that are respectfully observed. The KGB were very good at making sure slurs and abuse were thrown at dissenting voices.

There were about 4-5 posts by Webbo which have been deleted tonight. Clearly the KGB didn't agree with what was said ..... We received complaints about two posts, suggesting that they were attacks on other posters. Once the forum team had been alerted to this, it was investigated and these posts were deemed to indeed be unnecessary attacks on other posters. The posts in questions were therefore removed, and the poster in question was personally contacted about the issue, and the reason for deletion was explained. The £199 information post was left in place as it did not breach any forum rules, and was not an attack on any other posters.I have no idea where it went, and will double check now, but it was not removed by any mods on this forum. Why would we even delete a post that was providing an answer to a question fairly posed by another member? There is no 'conspiracy' in place, no one is limiting posters 'free speech', complaints had been received, and the issue was quickly resolved behind the scenes. The member in question is still free to post on this forum. However, this forum is not a place for personal attacks. KGB? Haha! Now that's a new one.

Joe Strummer wrote: "You have the right to free speech, as long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it." Not sure if he was a Saints fan or not...

The original post of ex webbo was not offensive so why we're all his posts deleted As Mr Royle would say: Freedom of speech my bottom

The original post of ex webbo was not offensive so why we're all his posts deleted As Mr Royle would say: Freedom of speech my bottom Two of his posts, one of which in particular was a personal attack on another member, and complaints were received. They were subsequently taken down. His third post was not taken down by us. The member in question had no argument with the decision. Everyone is free to have their views on this forum, but attacks aimed at other members are not acceptable. The matter was resolved, so I'd ask if we could move on now. It has all been explained, and once again, I have to reiterate, that everyone's views are welcome as long as they're put across in an acceptable manor. This forum is a friendly placed viewed by people of all ages.

As we've gone off subject as usual, can anyone tell me why the history site has gone off line? The Club's history and heritage is of great importance and in my opinion has to be preserved !!

If you are going behind someone's back then asking isn't really on the agenda is it! There were no strings attached before. Volunteers, like you though no agenda then.

BTW I think someone like Joe Strummer would have been appalled at people defending personal abuse etc being defended in the name of free speech
