Viner hasn't had a chance at showing himself at a league game yet has he? He's done so well for the reserves keeping 4 clean sheets in a row i think, is very commanding and has a great kick on him-which set up the only goal scored in the cup against broxbourne tuesday night. With all the changes you think he'd be given a chance at a couple games. Doesn't seem like it would do us any harm!! Viner was in goal for the home league games against Redditch Utd and AFC Totton.

To be fair - Hart would most likely struggle to keep a clean sheet behind ths lot

Haha!! Lol....No just a fan that has seen him play in the past and has seen him in the Saints reserves and done well in my opinion....every other player has been changed about the past couple of weeks....why not the keeper?? Perhaps because Howell brought Jupp from Harrow Borough he feels he needs to keep his loyalty to him, even if that means the Saints losing each week!! Just my thoughts.

Didn't he concede 2 goals against a Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side ? And concede 4 against Totton ! Hart is an ex Harrow player but he gets put on the bench sometimes so i don't see that he hasn't been dropped because of that.

Yes that's right, he was. Thank-you for that reminder. He must have played terribly in both to have been dropped after two games?! Well lets see if someone can take leadership in the game now and get some goals back!!

According to someone at the game, it was dire. We were clueless and only started playing after Shields had scored (even that was a deflection), when it was too late. The route 1 stuff was again to the fore, with the ball in the air at least 50-60% of the time. It's just the same old story. No wonder crowds are dropping. Something really does need to be done and soon if we are going to turn this around.

Another woeful performance. Another host of changes though James Gray looked Ok & even looked as if he cared - but alas the other 10! I wasted 4 hours of my life for this and can't be bothered to waste anymore typing negative comments.

I expressed some similar views a week or so ago on this forum and was rounded on by other "fans". So, be careful Saints7 or you might get sent to the land of the trolls too......
What worries me most is the we have a big squad that must be relatively costly but it has very little quality, and clearly no cohesion. I am sure that the manager is aware of this but has yet to demonstrate that he can rectify it, this is the challenge for him, and I hope he can respond because we are soon going to be in serious trouble. Hopefully the Evesham game represents an opportunity to get on the right track.

A step in the right direction by signing James Gray, who plays with a passion and determination not seen this season. Just need to get rid of some of the dross and cut the squad size down to say 18 and sign a couple of quality players plus give the best of the youth a chance....

Just listened to Howell's post match interview. 26 fouls committed , Howell says most by Furlong & Gray ( he didnt think some were fouls ) . If you rely on players with no pace & lack of fitnesss , they will commit fouls .

oh dear..another dreadful performance...sick of saying it re disaterous appointment and the FACT Castle should have been given a chance. Ridley is losing the crowd, this team will get relegated so he therefore needs to act now before its too late and bring in a new Manager and start over again.

Ridley is losing the crowd, this team will get relegated so he therefore needs to act now before its too late and bring in a new Manager and start over again. Are you related to Steve Castle or something, because you are certainly giving that impression, saintsped. Let's just put a few facts on the table, here. Steve Castle, during his first tenure in 2003 and 2004 left us rooted a number of points adrift at the bottom of the Conference South before Colin Lippiatt eventually turned things around with, I might add, virtually the same team, to finish in 15th position and we all know what happened the following season. During Steve Castle's second tenure from late 2007 to the end of the 2010/2011 season, it was a continual struggle to reach anywhere even close to the top of half of the table, culminating in our inevitable relegation last season, into the Southern League. I would agree that he was working in difficult circumstances over the past couple of seasons but you cannot say that his managerial record is anything other than poor. The FACT, as you so succinctly put it, is that the club decided it needed a change of manager this season and, in my opinion, that decision was clearly the correct one. As far as the current situation is concerned, the board are not stupid and if they feel (as most supporters do) that changes are required to turn things around, you can bet that those changes will made. What form those changes take, we will have to wait and see.

boomer..unlike some on here you make some valid and well reasoned points. My thoughts on Castle are largely based on the impossible job he did last season and the passion and committment he demonstrated on the side of the pitch week in and week out...just felt he at least deserved an opportunity until Christmas..and i think we would be in much better shape in the league if that had happened. Thats just my view. Will draw a line under it now but i do hope the Board change things with the current Manager and poor playing squad.

He finished rock bottom last season, any donkey can demonstrate passion on the side of the pitch, it's stuff like tactics, ability to get players and playing style that people want
