Norwegian Branch is planning to come over to watch the mighty Saints vs Frome this Saturday at Clarence Park and Chesham away on Monday. We are hoping someone can help us out with a couple of questions regarding the Chesham match. We assume that you guys have bank holiday on Monday and the game kicks off at 3.00PM? Also, what is the best way (and how) to travel to Chesham from St Albans excluding cab? Many thanks

Hopefully, this link with work ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/SAC/CFO/270812/1330/arr/270812/1730/depChesham is on the tube network so you need to look up Chalfont and Latimer. I'm not sure if you need a return to Chesham or a network card. Get the train from the City station (near Clarence Park) to London St Pancras, walk to the front of the station, get the tube, Circle or City and Hammersmith, westbound to Baker Street. At Baker Street either have a drink in the Met Bar above the station then walk round the corner to Marylebone or get the Bakerloo North, then take the train from Marylebone to Chalfont and Latimer. There is a bar at Marylebone too. At Chalfont, the tube train will be waiting to take you down the hill into Chesham Station. The ground is a fairly short walk. There are pubs in the old part of the town that are worth a visit. As any local for directions.

If you dont want all the hassle of going into st pancras then get the train to west hampstead, one stop on the tube to finchley road and get the met line direct to chesham from there, trains leave finchley rd at xx20 and xx50 mins past the hour. There is also a wetherspoons at finchley rd, in the O2 centre

Chesham are the first club we've played this season with any 'form'. This game should therefore be a good indicator of just how good/average the current squad is.

HT 2-0.
Not being overrun and have created the odd chance (one in particular very good one) but don't look like putting one away.
Question marks over some of the ref's decisions.
Graham the stand out player for the Saints.

FT 2-1 to Chesham. Saints bossed second-half. Couldn't find an equaliser though.

FT 2-1 to Chesham. Saints bossed second-half. Couldn't find an equaliser though. Finally got to see my first game of the season. If that's and indicator of what chesham have to offer to the league this season, then that's one less team we have to worry about. Despite a shaky start and having to adjust from the ujaha sending off. The mighty saints gave a spirited display and across the 90 minutes were probably the better team. The referee's performance was sadly what we come to expect in this league. This year looks promising for the saints. Let's hope the standard they've set themselves so far continues.

The sending off was harsh it was a foul going for a 50/50 ball the annoying thing was the ref had already whistled for a free kick to us as the challenge went in.
Couple of soft goals and we should of had a penalty in the first half as well as Hayles shooting over when one on one with Gore.
Second half got the penalty to get back in the game and were the better side and were all over them at the end.
Should of got something out of the game even though we had to play 85 minutes with 10 men and was proud of the way the lads battled against Chesham and the ref today.

Hatboy. You must have posted your comments whilst I was driving us back! Kept that quiet! A different game methinks had we kept 11 on the park. Sending offf probably warranted if a bit harsh in light of what went just beforei.e the tackle for our free kick. However. if we accept that the sending off was probably justified we can can then fairly say that at best the ref was very inconsistent and at worst incompetent. he ruined the game for us and as for the lino on the stand side 2nd half he may as well have gone home. Waste of space. I hope that the report on the ref reflects my feelings. This set of officials should be sent for some retraining. As for the game. Lost a player early on. Conceded 2 , IMO, poor goals to the player badly injured in the sending off tackle. Then had to p[lay 10 against 12/13/14 for rest of game. Played better uphill into wind second half and should have scored at least twice more after we had the penalty. Not enough shots on target though. And even with 12/13/14 playing for them they were hanging on. Our guys stuck to the task well and dominated for long periods and gave a very spirited display. I am left feeling that we would have to have won 2-0 to get a draw yesterday. Has to be the poorest set of officials we have experienced, and I was at York away. If Chesham are as good as we play this season even I may become optimistic about the season. Lets do Stourbridge on Saturday. Good away support and the Norwegian Branch looked remarkably well considering the day we/they had on Sunday! COYS

More than deserved a draw but at least its something to build on. Was clear to see we were the better side but unfortunately it wasn't to be.
