Tonight as most of you are sleeping peacefully in your beds, and Mr Ridley is enjoying himself at the closing ceremony of the Olympics,he has now opened up a second front. I quote "By popular demand we have relaunched our official forum"
Popular demand ?? Usual sycophants feel free to sign up, I am staying here.

I'm staying here too. Just got back from the closing ceremony but didn't see our chairman there though.

Why do you view that as a 'second front' lonecrank? And what do you see as the 'first front'? And who is fighting/opposing/in conflict with who? (There should be a whom in there, striuctly speaking but let's not worry.). And what is the opposite of sycophant? Do I have to be in one 'camp' or another 'camp' to 'stay' here or 'go' there? How do I know which camp I am in? That's half a dozen questions but not too taxing I hope.

Good luck to them. You would presume those who condemned this site when it started but strangely subsequently joined will go back to where they crawled out from.

By popular demand . I well remember the reasons for Saintschat coming into being in the first place, back in March 2010. Daedalus, Saint and COYS have all done a brilliant job running this forum and long may it continue. I will also be staying put.

For clarity, just who are "they" and where did they "crawl out from"gaz?
Lonecrank. Does being a member of this forum preclude visiting the other, by the way? Do I get banned from here if I am seen on there? I know that's two more questions so I'll wait for the answers before asking any more.

AFF, of course being a member of this forum does not stop you from joining the other forum, and you won't be banned in anyway...

Hi Kermit. Gaz and Lonecrank seem a little shy so perhaps you can assist: For clarity, just who are "they" and where did they "crawl out from"?

All we can say is good luck to the other forum, SaintsChat was set up to replace the old official forum after it was closed, and I feel has done well to fill in the gap these previous couple of years. Some may decide to go back to the old forum, but SaintsChat will not be affected by the official forum reoppening, we'll still be here to provide a place for Saints fans to discuss issues surrounding the club! However, I will say, we are slightly bemused by the sudden decision to open the official forum again! Oh well, what will be, will be.

Having followed a twitter exchange from our good friends Ellacott and Norman,it appears that I was completely mistaken in attributing the opening of a second forum to Mr Ridley. My sincere apologies to him and anyone else offended by my crass comments.

For my part, I hope you saw that I was intrigued rather than offended by your 'crass comments' lonecrank but you have withdrawn them and apologised sincerely which is, I hope, good enough for anyone that you did offend. And good enough for me. Now let's hear from gaz or kermit.

When this forum opened the 'official forum' died a bit of a death, why not make this the official forum, linked via the website and still run by the folks that run this one, they are after all fans who do a good job in moderation.
I too miss the crazy days on fans focus, although football was never talked about much on there

.... "Although this is a "Forum" and has a section for general chat about St Albans City Football Club. The main purpose is to get feedback and information from Fans old and new. We are especially keen to get information on Past Players to help add information to our database. If you can help please register on the site and post in the relevant section."
I have read postings on this forum and have noted that if you have a view different to those of the moderators you will be banned or the thread will be locked. If you slag off someone who the moderators don't like then that's fair game. I have often thought about internally wrapping (it's a technical term) this forum to the main site but that can't happen with the current moderating policies.

I have often thought about internally wrapping (it's a technical term) this forum to the main site but that can't happen with the current moderating policies. Bit in bold- Honestly, I really don't see how this is true. We deal with everyone fairly and equally, and even if it doesn't appear so on the outside, privately anyway everyone is dealt with fairly and in the same way. The rules of the forum are pretty clear in my opinion, and anyone who breaches them will face some kind of action, be it the editing of a post or locking of a thread. We like to have a hands-off policy, and it has only been the past few weeks where we've had to take more 'public' action... Myself and the other Mods/Admins do not enjoy having to take any form of action, we prefer just being in the background, with nothing to do, we do not wish to do what we have had to do lately.

no, I asked for the trust to help repair the floodlights that had been disconnected, to supply hot water heaters for the clubhouse... both refused.

.......aghhhhh, their money?
Do you mean the same cash that seems to have been earned on the back of the club, without contributing to the rent on the shop, rates or other business costs. No doubt all the people who spent money at the shop are happy to see their cash locked away in a dormant bank account.
Some people may not think the money belonged in the first place.
