meanwhile Sambou is banging them in for Biggleswade and Sean Lucien continues to show defenders a clean pair of heels (as per recent match report) with Matt Ball dominating midfield. Oh for days of yore when we used to win games. Louis Theophanos for Kingstonian too

I can’t believe there won’t be more changes in the next few weeks. IA knows as well as anyone that the team isn’t right. Who will be released is anyone’s guess, but I’d be surprised if Bawling’s one of them. Let’s face it, we all have our favourites and IA is no exception. It’s Monlouis all over again - a skilful player with a good first touch and the constant ability to either run straight into the first defender or send a pass into an area where other City players are not!
Regarding ex-Saints, Theo hasn’t set the world alight since he left us so I can’t see him doing much if he came back. I liked Lucien but he had the same problem as RMW and DaCosta - inconsistency. They all had days when they terrorised defenders and other days when they were anonymous.
It’s a shame Kamdjo left us. He was just starting to impress me.
My real worry for this season is what will happen if Joe leaves us or has a lengthy injury. I like Merson and Adu puts in a decent shift, but unless Foxley steps up to the plate I don’t know where the goals will come from.

This is why IA decided to sign Bawling.

He was useless in every game he played. I'm amazed its taken so long for him to go!

Please disregard my comments on Sept 24th about Bawling not being one of those released! I’m gobsmaked, Bawling was virtually ever-present. I wonder if something happened behind the scenes to change IA’s mind. Perhaps we shouldn’t have released RMW, we’re a bit short of wide players now. Hopefully someone new will be announced after tonight’s training session.

I think he may have been released by Mk Dons and not at Bromley where he was at trial in pre season. Surely IA has his contact details. Him and Iacafano could be a deadly strike force.

Good call Stafans. I'd forgotten about him - he carried real threat

Great call, stafans.
He certainly impressed, when he was on loan to us at the end of last season. Not strictly a striker but he could do a great job for us down either flank. He is also local and comes from Leavesden.

I don't know how Bawling ever wore a SACFC shirt. I am not sure how we ended up with him.
A favour for an agent?

To be honest l was expecting great things of Bawling before l saw him play, as l was of RMW and Foxley, but l have, like others, been disappointed in them. Well Foxley is still with us out of the 3, but when called upon, he has now really got to step up to the plate, as indeed have all the players. Sprague has also flitted in and out of form too. But now we've had that, hopefully morale boosting, win at Worthing, (ok it was only Worthing some might say), we've got to take this forward to Saturdays game at Maidstone. We're going to have to be on our game there, they're a decent side l feel, COYS!

According to Neil Metcalfe from the herts ad BB was one of the most hard working players in the team and gave his all in every match?

According to Neil Metcalfe from the herts ad BB was one of the most hard working players in the team and gave his all in every match? Yes, I wouldn't disagree with that. Always put in a good shift and always willing to track back unlike some of the more gifted players. Never had a problem with the effort that he put in but I just didn't feel that he was good enough. Good luck to the bloke.

Agreed. I had no issues with BB’s work rate, it was his constant ability to give the ball away that annoyed me.
Who will we play out wide tomorrow?

Well if we sign a replacement today, would he be eligible to play tomorrow, or is it too late now ?

I doubt if anyone would dispute bawlings work rate, but the fact is he offered almost nothing, apart from passing the ball backwards or sideways.

Ah okay, so we can fill the bench. Yeah, l agree, unless we get any players out with injuries, that'll be it, Bawling probably won't be replaced

So he's been released for budget reasons? He wasn't great but why release him if we aren't going to get a replacement, or a new player in a different position in?

Post by lagerman on Sept 28, 2019 10:45:29 GMT
It makes you wonder whether it was for budget reasons or not, but if it was, in the present situation whereby there is all the (understandably) bad feeling around the place cos of the increased ticket prices, it'll be like rubbing salt in the wounds of supporters if Bawling has been released for "budget reasons". Of course l very much doubt it'll be admitted by the owners or IA if it was due to "budget reasons"
