Charles is probably our best signing, unfortunately he is in a poor team . Would like to here why you don’t think some players aren’t good enough - any examples and reasons behind them Just look at the league table Hahahaha

I agree, the signings look fantastic. Wonderful free flowing football and promotion is on the cards. This is the funniest thing out there🤣. You literally can’t name the issue because you haven’t seen the boys play. I would be down for a debate if you can’t actually label the issue with meaning and what signings haven’t performed but you can’t mate

Would love an intelligent chat about what’s actually going wrong and in my view it’s the fact players aren’t taking chances in final 3rd

I have it on good authority that the opposition are scoring more goals than we are, and the stats don't lie apart from the goals scored and goals conceded and games played and points won stats which don't tell the whole story. Also injuries.

What about that guy from Enter Shikari who played in a charity match and is by all accounts a 'baller'. He could be player/manager? Failing that given the prominence of bars in the ground how about Gazza?
The thing I would say to saintsman is this. We moving to a point were you can't just explain the poor results by bad luck. Ok you can be unlucky in a single match but not 6 in a row. Something is wrong. You cannot simultaneously defend the summer recruitment and Noble. Given that Noble is head coach not manager, I am assuming Harry Wheeler led recruitment. So you might argue Wheeler messed up recruitment and has not given Noble the tools. Alternatively, you can argue recruitment was Ok but than you have to concede that Noble is massively underperforming. At times you seeming that Noble is a good coach and recruitment has been solid. for me this statements are mutually exclusive. Both cannot be true given results. You made the point in a previous post that Braintree started slowly last year but after 6 games they still got 5 points. If the initial objective was playoffs we almost failed by the end of August. There are slow starts and then there disastrous starts.
I don't buy this injury thing all teams suffer from injuries and if you wait until full team is on the pitch to judge a manager you effectively differing judgement forever

I don't buy this injury thing all teams suffer from injuries and if you wait until full team is on the pitch to judge a manager you effectively differing judgement forever The difference with us and injuries is the fact that we have almost no depth unlike most other teams in the league, we’re having to put 4 academy lads on the bench who are nowhere near good enough for this level and it limits us to really 2 subs not 5 and that’s why our second half performances have dropped off, no other team in the league is having to fill there benches with academy lads! Also on the pitch we are creating so much but not taking our chances whilst conceding harsh goals, for example against farnborough there goal was a one in a million back-heel but we missed two chances that would of been scored 99% of the time, it was the same story against Hornchurch and also Worthing we were denied a stone-wall penalty in the last minute! The season is no way over yet aa you are allowed around 16 losses to make playoffs but we just need to start clicking in the final 3rd and start having a stonger bench. The transitional play from defence to attack has improved so much from last season and in 4/6 games we have created more clear-cut chances than the opposition. The issue is so clearly in the final 3rd and I hope that Noble is working on that on the training pitch

I'm not interested in silly statistics, the results speak for themselves, the team and manager aren't up to the job.

And Hemel go top 16 points clear of us. Taunton were top at this point last season - long long season Not the first time you've mentioned Taunton, perhaps it deserves some context? After 11 games of the 2023-24 season, they topped the division for the first time after an excellent start to the campaign which included only one loss. On 17 January 2024, Taunton were issued a winding-up petition from His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC). As a result of the ongoing dispute, a number of senior players departed and the club were placed under a transfer embargo by the National League on 2 February. On 6 March 2024, the club issued a statement confirming that they had been unable to fully pay players or staff, in addition to the inability to pay their commitments to HMRC. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Their bad form started before the financial issues 👍 Theres 40 games left of the season - Look this league is unpredictable, no-one would of fancied Aveley against Dorking tonight and Worthing beating Wood

1. Quite a big if there but I should've expected nothing less 2. They kept most of their squad did they? That's weird, because this article on BBC Sport from 12th January suggests they lost 6 first team players in a week 3. Do you know the day their financial issues started? Because the article on BBC Sport suggests things were bad from October, but in September they took 11 points from 5 games? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67932973

The issue is so clearly in the final 3rd and I hope that Noble is working on that on the training pitch Well we knew the substitution rules before the start of season. Recruitment has to be a balance between using your available resources to secure reasonable quality and reasonable depth. It going to be a tradeoff. So its black mark on the club if our depth is much worse than other clubs. If results had gone according to XG we would have 6 points not 1, still not great. But the XG against Worthing was close, so a draw was fair enough. So the only game you can really say we created far than the opposition was Hornchurch. Really this narrative of a clear disjuncture between what we are creating and the results only applies to a single game. Even in the Hornchurch game they had more shots on target than us, which shows you can cherrypick statistics to prove what you want. Of course there a lot season left to go but I maintain that we playing poorly, and the statistics do not really contradict this. I like to know the last time a team with 1 point from 6 games made the playoffs. I also think our poor form needs to be read alongside Noble struggles at Wealdstone. Noble bad run has gone so long it feels less like a temporary dip than evidence that he been found out as a manager. One thing is he sometimes feels the need to go against convention. Why did we start our few pre-season friendlies latter than every other club? If you are deny convention you need to be proved right otherwise you just look foolish. I know people will say Wealdstone have been great his season but they are 3 unbeaten now and seem to recovering from their poor start. I give Noble tonight and Saturday. If he does not win either he has to go, regardless of any other statistic.

I disagree a lot with the short pre-season but that would of been decided before Noble came back as teams plan their pre-seasons in March/April. Personally I give Noble today, Saturday and FA Cup because I genuinely believe it we get that first win we will go on a bit of a rub because the pattern of plays are there and we can carve teams open but we can’t convert chances. One issue I do have with XG data (I quite like XG) is the fact it doesn’t account for times when a player attempts to shoot but gets blocked first like Meakes chance on Saturday won’t be added to the XG total… Tonights gonna be a very tough game with Ken Charles out as I think Shaun will struggle alone up top as he looks the shadow of the player from last season. Also last season Meakes had a run of one point in 6 so it shows it’s not unfamiliar territory

Noble had a run of 1 point from 6 games last season and is no longer Wealdstone manager. Meakes had a run of 1 point from 6 games last season and is no longer manager.
Jeffers should be dropped because he lost his man at a corner that time.
Blocked shots are down to injuries.
This is great fun

This is great fun Jeffers has been awful so far this season and that’s simply a fact - we’re simply not taking our chances which isn’t related to injuries but our 2nd half drop offs are down to injuries 👍
