was listening tonight on 5Live about programme on SirAlex and 25 years at Man Utd and the famous Hansen line 'you don't win anything with kids was quoted'. Fact is you don't, but if you blend them with experience then you do....
This season may be written off already but Mr Howell must be given his chance, but it's a case of quality not quantity so get rid of the dross and get some quality and heart in the team - a presence and a leader for a start and blend in the best of the youth. From the few games I've watched fullbacks Joe Zazzera and Miles Scott plus Lawrence Wroe at centreback look good - far better than the 17 year old from Peterboro!! I could go on.....

He was clearly well regarded by those supporters who voted for him as Clubman of the Year in 2009/10 in recognition of the good job that he had done in very difficult circumstances that season. Paul Bastock Ryan Frater Drew Roberts Adam Everitt Peter Smith Paul Hakim Luke Thurlbourne Sol Sheilds Gary Cohen James Fisher (when he was good) James Quilter Godfrey Poku It must have been really difficult to grab a mid-table berth with all them good players Just about half of these players now play at a level below BSS, 2 more are currently sitting in the relegation zone of BSS, Hakim was never the same player after the Weymouth fiasco and players like Cohen and Quilter were decent enough but I'm sure that they wouldn't get into one of the top BSS teams. So I wouldn't agree that he had a particularly good squad of players. Also, Castle went from a record of winning 6 out of 8 games to no wins in 8 games once the budget cuts were imposed and players started to leave during the run in. So I thought that he did a pretty decent job that season. I don't blame the new owners for looking for a new manager at the start of this season and hope that the new manager can turn things around but to constantly think of Castle as the benchmark for terrible managers is, in my opinion, completely wrong. With the exception of Lippiatt, I don't think that any of the managers that we have had in recent years have been any better then Castle.

So you're in agreement that castle was as equally as crap as the others. Forward and onwards
