Bizarre, we are signing and releasing players yet we don't have a permanent manager yet?

Doubt we will have a manager until new year at earliest. The thinking may be 'See how games go over that period and if they go well sign new manager. don't go well, then whats the point.' just a thought. but the phrase is 'in no rush'

I guess that if we are making new signings then that is tantamount to the chairman giving the managers a vote of confidence and that they will be in charge for the forseeable future.

David Longe-King is on dual reg, Ade Yussuf has gone back to Dag & Red and Sam Akinde has gone. I assume Andis Nikolaou has also departed.

It's not a loan deal, Montgomery has left Borehamwood and signed a contract with Hemel until the end of the 2016/17 season. Hemel have paid a nominal fee to sign him.

Howie Hall signs for Dunstable Town. So recent former or dual-reg Saints there are now:
Paul Bastock Howie Hall James Kaloczi David Keenleyside Steve Wales John Frendo Charlie Smith + Conor Calcutt who trialled with us pre-season

Jorell Johnson signed on months loan from Watford. Gerardo Smaldone, from City Youth also signs National League forms. Jorell is a central defender and Gerardo a full-back. www.stalbanscityfc.com/squad-update/

Very interesting. I saw Jorell play for Watford under 21s at Clarence Park earlier in the season and he was my man of the match. Looked very composed, strong and good on the ball - will be interesting to see if he can make that transition from the under 21 game

Johnson was on loan at Hemel last season and was pretty impressive apparently.

The question why have we signed him. Now the whole defence will be players on loan, I rather us keep Ben Martin playing, not sure when the others are going back to their own clubs, Darren Locke must be near fit again. Unless something going on us supporters don't know about seems to be a waste of money having Johnston come to the park.

(I genuinely do not know eg. do their parent club still pay part of the wages?) Loan players are easier to get rid of might be another reason why they are preferred. I personally think a team of committed contract(club) players is the best option. I can remember when the core of the team (for better or worse) remained at the club for a number of seasons. Of course in those days most of the lads were relatively local.

I would suspect, with our on-going 'relationship' with Watford, they'll most likely be paying part of his wages... It seems that he's highly rated there, so they will want him getting competitive football. Also, he's quite a big Hemel fan I've heard... Maybe he wanted to see what playing at a big Hertfordshire club is actually like!

Very good news, four clubs in the National League were after him, but Edwards wanted to stay here (Bender also had such interest).

Its a experience manager we need not an experience player or in other words an old footballer that can not get a game elsewhere. Anyway do we need a another forward player or is the end of H Crawford/ Edwards

Agree with the comment about manager but we do need more leaders in the squad and he has proved himself in the past as a leader. Experienced midfielder would have been ideal but I'll take what we can get at the moment
