Does anyone know the situation with Devante Stanley, who it was earlier discussed in this thread as having allegedly involved in some unsavoury business ? Is he still with us ? Presumably so. Why wouldn’t he be?

Why wouldn’t he be? My reason for asking was in my Question, he'd allegedly been involved in an incident, but presumably there was some discussion between the Club and the player about that and it's all ok now and we've all moved on from that, then ?

Devante Stanley pleaded guilty to supplying class B drugs last December and received a 15 month sentence suspended, I believe, for two years. I am sure that the club were fully aware of this situation when they approached the player and have made it perfectly plain to Devante that any further episodes of this nature will result in a swift termination of his contract.

Longe King no longer on the club website 🤷🏼♂️ He was looking to play at a 'higher level', so will probably sign for Hendon in a couple of weeks .....

This could be a good signing for you Saints, I would've liked to have seen more of him at Hemel but despite scoring four goals in three games early in the season, he was dropped and after some appearances as sub he was back at Kings Langley by Xmas. I don't think this was necessarily due to any lack of effort on his part, he was one of a handful of players that weren't really given a fair crack at it as more experienced players were seemingly preferred during the Brennan era.

We could do a lot worse than look to offer Frankie Musonda a one-year contract. He did a good job for us in his two spells last season. At 23 years of age and having made just 14 senior appearances for Luton in the past 4 years, the player may have to seriously consider his short-term career options. There will be many players facing similar problems in the coming months as clubs at all levels seek to trim their budgets. I'm not too sure whether we would be able to offer Frankie a salary that is anywhere near comparable to what he was getting at Kenilworth Road. I suspect that Luton heavily subsidised his wages during his time with us last season. Frankie Musonda has signed for Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship. www.raithrovers.net/44676/frankie-musonda.htm

What happened to his so called signing for Raith Rovers ? I'm not complaining though, I'm glad we've got him, he's a decent player

David Longe-King has gone, as yet to be known where. Feel a little bit sorry for players with agents at this level of football. He’s obviously been told he’s capable of playing at a higher level when he’s probably not. From the limited number of times I’ve seen him play he has some potential but was part of one of the worst defences in the league last season.I expect to see him at another team at our level if not with Lee Allinson at Hendon.

Luke Warner-Eley, 23 year old left back from Royston (last season 23 appearances, 2 goals), is the latest addition to the squad. He previously played for Barton Rovers, Chesham United and Dartford.

Like the sound of this signing we really are building a decent squad but guess time will tell

On the positive side it looks like a more balanced squad, hopefully we’ll be able to play two up front this season. I’m not sure about the centre of defence though.
Most of the new signings haven’t played at this level before, so it might take a little time for them to bed in. But all in all I’m cautiously optimistic.

Yeah I agree Gazza , especially with someone like Jeffers upfront who’s experienced at this level.

Well, Ian certainly does seem to be putting together a good squad in terms of numbers, and with some experience in there with the likes of Jeffers but before l "wax lyrical" about it, l want to see it for myself, when we are allowed back in. I want to see everything about us, how well we all do, how we set up, how we play, formations and all the rest of it, how hard we concentrate, how hard we work, how well the players take their instructions on to the field of play and apply themselves, but not only that, you need to see good and positive coaching from Ian and his staff and the right decisions coming from them too, so let's see and let's hope all the new players gel and hit the ground running. The friendlies are one thing, but the league is another and as always there are some decent teams in NLS

The two games played so far are nothing more than glorified practice sessions against teams three leagues below us. The tests in pre-season are the final three games against Wealdstone, Sutton and Kings Lynn from the National League.
How many times though have we had a good pre-season then as soon as the league starts we revert to type and lose against bottom three clubs. Although we have some experienced players in the squad, we are relying on players stepping up a division and hitting the ground running. Going forward we look more promising but the defence has let us down season after season. It will be interesting to see what difference Chris Winton has made with a full pre-season under their belts. We seemed to go down hill after Lee Allison left the club and the 'defensive coach' took over from him.
I hope we have a better season but given recent history, I won't hold my breath.

Let's hope he gets plenty of work to do when we play them. I'm also hoping he gets plenty of work to do on Sat as I'll be at AFC Dunstable, my local team, on Sat to watch them (due to no fans being allowed in at St Albans
